Back to the Ballfield
On Thursday Madison had her first game on the Angels. This is Kylie's team and it's modified kid pitch which is new for us. They played great and won their first game so it was a super start to the season. Madison struck out her first time but her second at bat the pitcher threw 4 balls so Chase got to throw to her and she had a great hit. She also got an out at second base so she was happy with her performance. Oh, how I love watching her play softball. Go Angels!
Happy 8th Birthday Madison!
It's so hard to fathom that Madison is 8 years old! Where has time gone? At 8 years old Madison is crazy busy so that means I am too! She dances, plays volleyball, is on 2 different softball teams, goes to religion class on Wednesday nights, and has Girl Scouts every other Friday. Throw in some birthday parties on top of weekend sports and there's not a lot of time for anything else! Madison, we love your kind heard and adventurous spirit! You are sweet, smart, sporty, and loved by many!
She woke up to birthday donuts, a birthday visit from Trixie (our elf), and Chase went to school with her to be Watch Dog Dad. I took lunch up to school along with cookies for her birthday treat.
We gave her a cute birthday book with an outfit for our elf to wear. She had to make an invitation to invite Trixie to come and stay for the day.
She opened up presents after dance and then we went to dinner at CiCi's after volleyball practice
I feel like this year was kind of anti-climactic in the gift department. It's hard to buy for the girls who have everything! There wasn't anything big like a bike, scooter, mini i-pad (because she already has all of this)! It was mainly some American Girl doll accessories, a Moana karaoke CD-she loves karaoke! And some much needed clothes. Madison has hit a big growth spurt. She's mainly in 8's but can wear some 10's on the bottom. Got her mama's booty. =) She did get a new softball bag that she really likes so that was probably her favorite thing from us.
After dinner we had a mini ice cream cake she picked out. We saved our yummy DQ cakes for the weekend. Wish big sweet girl!

Don't Give Up
A couple weeks ago Chase took Madison fishing at Plano East. While we were in San Antonio, he caught a couple good size fish so he wanted M to try and catch one. They weren't having much luck and were about to leave when Chase put on a different lure and told her to throw a couple more times. She threw her line and then thought she was stuck on something but it was a good size fish! She reeled it in all by herself and it even jumped out of the water during the fight. Chase was super proud and so was she!
Kitchen Makeover
The Wednesday before spring break we started on painting our kitchen cabinets and fireplace mantle. It was a chore to empty everything out of the cabinets and pantry but it was so worth it!!! It's amazing what a little paint and hardware can do to brighten a room and make an impact. It only took us 10 years but I love how it turned out. Now we need to do the banister!
Slumber Party
This post is out of order but Madison went on her very first sleep over the weekend of the fishing tournament with Elle! Mr. Max set up a tent in the living room for them and they had a great time with lots of giggles. They were up bright and early and tried their luck at fishing again.
Since she had so much fun sleeping at Elle's house both girls spent the night with Finley and Brooklynn the next weekend. So much fun! And that was the start to spring break.

Spring Break 2017!!!
What an amazing spring break week!!! On Tuesday we left for San Antonio with mom and Julie and we made a pit stop to have lunch and shop at Magnolia. It was a little cooler that we had hoped but we just threw on a jacket and away we went. Lunch from the food trucks was super yummy and the girls loved swinging!
We stayed at the Marriott Plaza in San Antonio and it was fabulous! Julie got us 3 connecting rooms. 2 rooms with beds and a middle common area for dancing. =). We also had access to the hospitality room that served food and drinks and it was so nice not to have to leave with the kids to eat. Another bonus was the peacocks! That's beginning to be a theme with us. The girls loved Scarlet and Junior, which they renamed Travis.
We were definitely spoiled on this trip and were greeted with cupcakes and wine. The girls were introduced to Perrier and Madison is a big fan! We should have stuffed a bunch in our suitcase.
As usual, Emma has an assortment of yumminess to choose from and she goes for cereal and milk.
On Wednesday we did the whole touristy thing and saw the IMAX movie of the Alamo, took a carriage ride around downtown, visited the Alamo, did the boat ride around the riverwalk, and had a late lunch on the water where the ducks ate more of the girls food than they did.
Funny story about the IMAX, we accidentally went in the wrong theatre and it was a very inappropriate movie! We quickly ran out after the first 5 seconds after the biggest and loudest F word ever and found the Alamo. Ooops
After a fun day of sight seeing it was time to get dolled up for the Spurs game, which is the reason we we to San Antonio. Julie's daughter Jenna is a Silver Dancer so we were so excited to see all the girls and see them perform. Our fancy tickets allowed us entry before the general admission so we were able to talk to Jenna and pictures with the dancers before the doors even opened. It was fantastic and made a big impression! The game was so fun, especially since we were on the 8th row, and the girls were totally into it! They made the jumbotron a few times, Mimi caught a t-shirt, and the Spurs won. What a night! Ready for another game

On Thursday morning we went to Sea World and it was great! San Antonio was not on spring break so we pretty much had the park to ourselves and didn't have to wait in lines which was amazing.
We had a couple pretty hard downpours but they didn't last very long. I'm not sure I've ever been to Sea World when it didn't rain.
Journey to Atlantis! I wasn't sure if we could convince Emma to ride this but she did it! We actually stayed on and rode 3 times in a row. She was very proud of herself and I was proud of her too. Way to go Emma!
We fed the sea lions and they were super feisty and loud!
Madison and I rode the Steel Eel and she loved it! We went back to ride it again but it started to rain so they shut it down.
Before heading home we made a final stop to see the peacocks and try to feed them some breakfast. The pigeons were more interested in the food though and Scarlett kept spreading his feathers to try and scare the other birds away.
On the way home we stopped at the Snake Farm and Zoo on the side of 35. I've seen this place so many times so it was fun to finally stop. It was awesome and we were really impressed with all the animals they had.
The girls had so much fun! I don't think we'll have to twist their arm whenever we want to go back to SA although it won't be as luxurious as traveling with Ms. Julie!
