Bridal Shower

Over the weekend I had the pleasure of helping host a bridal shower for my bestie Sarah.  She's getting married in New York on a yacht in April so we are very much looking forward to that!  We had her shower at the Chocolate Angel tea room in Richardson which is one of my all time favorite places.  We were in their private room which is very vintage and wedding like so it was the perfect shower spot.  She had a great turnout and it quickly filled up with all her lovely guests.  I didn't get a ton of pictures since I was running around playing hostess but some other people grabbed my camera so here's a few close ups of what I did get.  I broke our normal lens so all we have to work with is the zoom lens for now.

Sarah got some awesome gifts and it made me want to re-register!

Sarah and 3 of her bridesmaids. (No I didn't grow 5 inches, I had super tall heels on)

All of the hostesses, minus cousin Shirley

16 Months

Today Emma is 16 months!  She is a very busy little thing and is always on the move.  She's turned into quite the climber so I have to keep a constant watch on all of Madison's stools that she uses to wash her hands.  Emma still isn't really talking much but she will say an occasional word once and then not say it again.  For example, on New Years Day we were at my grandfathers house and my aunt was talking to Emma.  She asked her what her name was and she looked at her and clearly said, "Emma."  We all about fell off the couch because that is the first time she's ever said her name or much else for that matter.  We've tried and tried to get her to say it again with no luck.  My parents were over the other weekend babysitting and when my mom went to pick Emma up out of the crib from her nap she asked Emma how she was and Emma responded, "good."  My dad even heard her say it through the monitor and started laughing.  SO, she can speak if she wants to she's just not too interested yet.  She's incredibly friendly and smiley when we are out and about and people always comment on what a happy baby she is.  I just smile and nod and think they should see her in action sometimes at home, not always the case!

First piggies!

Emma still LOVES to eat and really doesn't no when to stop

These sweet girls still think each other hung the moon

Emma's new thing is throwing herself on the floor and crying when she's mad about something.  I see lots of temper tantrums in our future!  She's hard headed and gets frustrated easily so some days she spends a lot of time on the floor!  Normally the few hours between nap and bedtime is when she's the most whiny and wants me to hold her constantly.

Emma, despite your crying fits you really are super sweet and cuddly.  You still love to read and you adore your big sister!  You are however a bit jealous when Madison is on my lap and you waste no time running over to push her off so you can sit down.  You really don't like me paying attention to any other babies either.

Oh the drama!  Mom, don't you know you're not allowed to put me down???

I started taking Emma to Gym Dandies this month and she really likes it.  This is the class that I did with Madison for over a year.  Madison comes too since she's not in school the days we go and I think she enjoys it as well!

Brrr, it's cold, cold cold.  This is her cold face!

Emma has been extra drooly the last couple days and yesterday I finally felt the beginnings of her first molar on the upper right side.  Other than that, no new teeth for this girl.  Just four on top and two on bottom.

As far as clothes, Emma is all over the map.  She can still wear most of her 12 month outfits and we just got Madison's 18-24 month box out of the attic and surprisingly most of those clothes fit too.  All the shirts fit great over her cute Buddha belly and the pants are a bit long but with a couple rolls at the bottom they are fine.  Emma is definitely a different build than Madison, shorter and chunkier.
We've been enjoying lots of outside play the last couple days

Emma points a lot and loves to touch everything

Pretty sure she's going to have curly locks just like her big sis

Here she is boogieing to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, our favorite show!

I love her chubby little feet, they are so cute!

Happy 16 months sweet girl!

Dad's Derby

Last night Madison's school had their annual Dad's Derby where the dads build a derby car with the kids and then they take the finished product into the cafeteria to race down ramps.  No moms allowed!  Madison and Chase had a great time and she came home bouncing off the walls.

Hard at work!  I gave Chase strict instructions to take some pictures with his phone so I could see what I was missing.

Happy Birthday

We've already had several birthdays this month and we have a few more to go.  We kicked off the New Year by celebrating Granddaddy's 93rd birthday on New Year's Day.

93 years young

We've also celebrated Hayden's 3rd birthday and last weekend we all got together to celebrate Gram and Chris's birthday too.  Together they are 42,663 ha!

Coasting into the New Year

For Christmas Chase's parents gave the girls a Step 2 Roller Coaster and Chase got it put it together over the weekend.  The weather hasn't exactly been conducive for outside play since Christmas so we were excited  to get outside and finally try it out.  I'm not sure who loves it more, Madison or Emma.  Emma wasn't so sure about it at first but she quickly learned how much fun it is and screams to go again when she gets to the bottom and stops rolling.  Thanks Gram and Grandad for this super fun coaster!  Too bad the weight limit is only 80lbs or you would see pictures of me going down this thing, ha!

We were cracking up at Emma because after she went down a few times and got the hang of it she would lean forward like a skiier ready to take off before racing down the hill.

Happy New Year!
