Green Beans

Tonight we tried baby food, green beans! Madison wasn't a big fan at first as you will see from the picture and she actually shivered during her first couple bites but she did eat about a tablespoon of it. She eventually kicked the bowl out of my hand, she has "crazy legs" as we call them and is constantly moving them, she got this from her father! I stopped putting her tray on the high chair because her legs get red from kicking it. I think I better start using it or will be both be covered in baby food. Pretty sure her toes are still her favorite treat.

This weekend we also celebrated my birthday, 29 woo hoo, and attended our 10 year high school reunion, we are old!

Tiny Tots

Madison and I started Tiny Tots music class last week. We go once a week for about 45 minutes and sing songs and play with small instruments like bells and shakers. Madison seems to really like it and it gives us something to look forward to each week. Here she is this morning ready to go to class and all smiles.
And then tonight, WHOOP! Here is what she wore on our walk, love this cooler weather!

6 Month Check Up and Cereal

Madison had her 6 month check up today and everything was right on track. She had to get 3 shots and screamed when they poked her but then was fine right afterwards, not as tramatic as last time. She weighs 16 lbs 13 oz which is in the 60th percentile and her height is 27 1/4 inches. She is in the 90th percentile for height which cracks me up because I don't think she's going to be very tall, she has short squatty legs like her mama! We tried rice cereal for the first time tonight and Madison didn't quite know what to think about it. Pretty sure every bite we gave her rolled out the side of her mouth but we will keep trying. Who needs cereal when you have toes?

6 Months Old

Today is Madison's 6 month birthday. I can't believe our baby girl had been with us for half a year, before we know it we'll be plannig her first birthday party. Yesterday we went to get her 6 month pictures taken and it was pretty crazy in there. We got lots of cute shots but had to work a little harder for those gummy smiles because she wanted to look around and take in her surroundings. I have to give Chase credit, he picked out the outfit with the jeans and those pictures turned out the cutest! Good job daddy.
Later that day we went to the Plano Balloon festival, it was pretty cool to see all the balloons light up and glow. I don't know how but Madison managed to sleep through the first hour, live band and all. I guess babies really can sleep anywhere.
There's also a bunch others pics in this post as well. I had to include some her giant bow. We just got it as a gift and it's so cute but oh so big, it's the size of her head!

Friends, Road Trips, and Birthdays

September 3rd was Chase's birthday, the big 29, not a very exciting one. We went over to his parents house for chicken fried steak and some entertainment from Madison. She has quite the personality these days and seems to have a new noise or expression all the time. Besides her constant bouncing, she has developed a new sigh that is very dramatic, I think we have quite the drama queen on our hands. Even though it was Chase's birthday we decided Madison was the one who needed some new toys. Over the weekend we went to explore the new Buy Buy Baby that just opened by our house and we didn't leave empty handed. We got some foam puzzle pieces that fit together to make a big play mat for the hard wood floors downstairs. I'm not sure who likes it more, Madison or me. I love having a soft surface to sit on! She also got a little red barn complete with a cow, rooster, pig, and duck which all make their appropriate sounds. It's pretty cute. The best part about this weekend was that we bought a much needed new kitchen table! We decided this would be our birthday gift to each other since we both have September birthdays. After 10 years of buying gifts for each other we have resorted to "together gifts" AKA, furniture, stuff for the house, or trips, fine by me. =)

Weekend before last Madison took her first road trip and she was quite the trooper. We went to visit my Granny in Bogata for her birthday. It's a two hour drive each way so it made for a long day but it was not bad at all. Madison loved seeing all of her relatives and her second cousins wore her out so she was asleep as soon as we put the car in drive. Thanks girls!

I posted a pic of Madison and Alise out at dinner, aren't they cute side by side? And we got to meet baby Reed, another one of our Kappa babies. The crazy hair picture at the end is after bath time and one of my personal favs.
