Last Day of Pre-K!

It's official....summer is here!  Today was Madison's last day of pre-k at North Star Learning Center.  My first born is officially a kindergartner.  Holy Moly!  Another mom and I provided "pizza and popsicles" for an end of year treat for the kiddos.  We've made such great friends over the last 2 years and hope to stay in touch as we all go in different directions!

By the end of the year, Emma was kind of a celebrity in Madison's class room.  All the little girls LOVED her and would always run up to her and try and pick her up and hug on her.   She ate it up!

Texas Discovery Gardens

Earlier in the week I took the girls to the butterfly gardens at Fair Park.  It was an easy and quick activity.  We walked through the butterfly house and there were butterflies flying everywhere of all shapes and sizes.  Then we ventured outside and walked through the pretty gardens.  At noon they do a butterfly release of newly hatched butterflies so we stayed for that before heading out.

This is the largest moth they've ever had.  The curve of their wings looks like a snake's head to scare off predators.

On the way home we saw a huge rainbow and the girls loved it!

"Look Mom I have your boobies on!"

 

Last Friday they were showing Frozen as the last show in our outdoor movie series so we headed straight over after t-ball practice and had the best time.  We sat with all our friends and enjoyed eating dinner on our blanket and running around before the movie started.

A few days earlier we had fun feeding the ducks at the pond.  We didn't have bread but we had goldfish!  We are ready for summer and enjoying outdoor activities!

We have a Graduate!

Last night Madison had her pre-school end of year revue and "graduation."  All the 4's classes walked down the aisle in their graduation hats to "the song you graduate from high school to. "  They looked so cute and SO BIG!  Wow.  Just Wow.  The kids sang a few songs and then we had a reception immediately following.  Can't believe I'm going to have a kindergartner next year.

A couple weeks ago I volunteered to decorate our class table since no one had stepped up.  It's kind of a big job and the class mascot was a buffalo so I wasn't sure what all I could do with that!  I had fun with it though and it turned out really cute.

Another mom graciously ordered a buffalo mold and made these cute chocolate pops.  I added the "Happy Trails" label and viola, cutest buffalo pops ever!

I love, love, love these end of year portfolios the teachers make for all the kids.  It's filled with Madison's special work and pictures of holidays and events throughout the year.  Such a great keep sake!  It makes me feel better about not keeping every shred of work she brought home all year.

I can't say enough good things about North Star!  It's been a fantastic pre-school and Madison is more than ready for Kindergarten.
