Infection

Today Emma had a rough day.  Last night she woke up crying around 4 AM and then again at 7 AM which she never ever does so I knew something was up.  Her fever kept rising and was 102 when I talked to the nurse who said to bring her in.  She wouldn't eat anything and was basically a limp noodle all morning/afternoon.  Dr. Hieber ruled out an ear infection which meant we had to go through all the not so fun tests we had to do just 3 weeks ago!  After a flu test, strep test, finger prick, urine sample, and chest x-ray we were diagnosed with a non flu, non strep, non kidney, non pneumonia....drum roll please.....infection.  Cure: Tylenol.  Really, all of that and we just need to take Tylenol?  This child is going to cost us a fortune.  Super glad it is nothing serious but sad she had to be poked and prodded to figure that out.  Poor girl.

pitiful right?

Just after her chest x-ray.  The only reason Dr. Hieber ordered one is because her white blood cell count was super high from her blood draw and he was worried she might have pneumonia that he couldn't hear by listening to her chest.  BUT...all was clear.  Way to go my little trooper, so sorry you had such a rough day with lots of tears!  =(  It was rough on mommy too.

101 Days of School

On Wednesday Madison celebrated 101 days of school with a 101 Dalmatians theme.  They made cute Dalmatian shirts at school the week before and brought them home to wear for Wednesday.  When she came out after school she had some felt puppy dog ears and a "dog collar."  She chose Lilly as her puppy name and said they watched 101 Dalmatians and ate puppy snacks.  They had a fun day.

Time for Tea

Today we went to a tea party for our school friend Merryn.  Her sweet grandma decided it would be fun to host a tea party "just because" and use her own grandma's china which was over a hundred years old, she was brave!  All the girls looked so cute dressed in their Sunday best and had a great time.  Miss Gwen even ordered tea hats and gloves for the girls to take home.

Immediately after we left our tea party we hurried home to host our "Christmas in February" party with Chase's aunt and cousins.  It's always so hard to fit everyone in over the holidays and it's taken us this long to plan a weekend that would work for everyone.  Luckily we had a beautiful day so the bounce house was put to good use.
Merry Christmas!

Flower Girls

On Thursday Brittney came over and officially asked Madison and Emma to be in the wedding.  She brought over a big Pinkalicious story book and read them the story about being a flower girl.  The girls are super excited and so am I.  It's going to be so fun to see them all dressed up and of course to see my little brother get married.  Chase is part of the wedding party too so it will certainly be a family affair!  Looking forward to September.

The Zoo

Yesterday we enjoyed the gorgeous weather and met a bunch of our North Star friends at the zoo.  All the kids had a great time running wild, playing, and exploring together.  We have such a great group and it makes me sad that we'll all go different directions for kinder next year.  Hopefully we'll still see each other now and then!

All these figures were a big hit with the kids.  We had to stop through out the zoo and play with each and every one

Of course all the boys had to take turns sticking their head in the alligator's mouth, watch out Jack Henry!

This little munchkin was just 2 steps behind the big kids.  She only toppled down one set of stairs so I'd say that's a good day, right?

Madison and cutie patootie Max loved feeding the birds

GOAL!!!

Today Madison scored her first soccer goal ever!!!  She just happened to be in the right place at the right time but a goal is a goal and she was super proud of herself.  I don't think soccer is going to be her sport because she doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body but she is getting a little better about trying to kick the ball when it's in front of her.  It just so happened she was playing against her crush, Jack Henry, and Gram and Grandad were there too so that was fun.  This was her last game of the winter season so it was a great way to finish until spring soccer starts up.  Way to go Madison!  To celebrate, we let her pick what she wanted for dinner and CiCi's was her restaurant of choice.

We've never taken a picture in her uniform so we snapped a few before she left.  They are the Bengals which will be her school mascot next year.

Show me your mean face....

Happy Valentine's Day

I hope everyone had a lovely Valentine's Day.  Madison woke up and decided that she wanted to give all her school friends one of her painted Frozen pictures to go along with their glow sticks.  Luckily she had enough done so I carefully tore out 13 pictures and then she spent the morning signing her name.  Anyone with a 4 year old knows name signing is not always a quick process and Madison's name is not exactly short.  Luckily we threw ourselves together and got to school just in the knick of time.  We are not really morning people around here so I try and let Madison sleep until about 7:45 or so before I wake her up to get ready for school by 9.  Next year is going to kick my butt.  A 7:45 start time is not going to be fun.  Bleh!

The girls got paint books as their Valentine surprise this year since Madison has enjoyed painting so much recently.  Emma was quite excited to get one of her very own.

Here's what we made our school friends this year.  Thank you Pinterest!

She loved her Valentine outfit and so did her teachers.

Normally I try and leave Emma behind on class party days but this time I took her with me and she had the best time playing.  She's going to love school next year!

Madison picked out a special Valentine treat for her buddy Jack Henry and she gave it to him at the car.

My sweet Valentine cuties!  Thanks Mimi for our super cute outfits.

Choke holds and kisses!

We headed over to Gram and Granddad's house after nap time to celebrate Granddad's birthday.  I didn't get any pictures but Gram made a delicious dinner and a good time was had by all.
Before going to bed we gave daddy a little homemade Valentine goodie.  Again, thank you Pinterest.

Tea Party

On Thursday our friend Elizabeth invited us over for a fancy tea party.  We had a great time and loved using real tea cups and saucers.  Everyone enjoyed lots of yummy treats and then play time outside since it finally warmed up!

The Little Mermaid Jr.

On Sunday Jill and I took Kylie, Hayden, and Madison to see a children's production of the Little Mermaid in downtown Plano.  Kylie had a couple friends in it and the performers aged from kindergarten to jr. high.  It was a great show and all the kids did a great job.  Hopefully they will have some more productions we can check out.  After the musical the cast was in the lobby and Madison loved taking pictures with some of the characters.  Good practice for Disney!  =)

Ursula was really great and had an awesome voice
