So I know you are wondering what the girls have been up to since I never post anything, ha! Since monthly posts on each girl stopped at age 2 I thought I would start off 2014 by remembering what they are doing on a day to day basis.
Madison is enrolled in Mon, Wed, Fri pre-school and loves it! Kindergarten round up will be in March and that puts a giant pit in my stomach. Mimi, where is that brick?
She has quite the calendar and is enrolled in ballet, gymnastics, and soccer. Add in a few play dates and birthday parties here and there and this girl is a social butterfly.
Speaking of parties and butterflies, we are just over 3 months from her 5th birthday and she has requested a butterfly themed gymnastics party, ASI just like last year.
All her teachers ooh and ahh over her all the time and tell me how sweet and wonderful she is which is music to a mother's ears. They have also told me she wins the award for best dressed.
She does, however, leave her listening ears in the classroom and saves all her sassiness and hard headedness for me which is just lovely.
She has been watching big kid shows with real people on the Disney channel like Hey Jessie, Austin and Ally, and Good Luck Charlie. They are actually really cute shows and I don't mind them. Even Emma likes watching them.
She got a Frozen water color painting book for Christmas and she loves to paint in it every day
She's still tall and skinny minnie. Length wise she's wearing a size 5 on bottom but mostly a 4 on top because most 5's seem a little wide.
She still sucks her thumb but mainly just in front of the tv when she's relaxing and of course when she's tired. That's going to be one hard habit to break!
If you get in our car right now the Frozen soundtrack will be BLARING! I love it too. Whenever we get in the car we have to start it over from the very beginning, which is interesting on errand day when we are in and out of the car a million times.
If she needs something she'll get a funny look on her face and say, "A little help here."
Completely OCD about everything. I went upstairs the other day and she had lined all our Aggie coasters up along the window sill in the play room so she still loves to line things up.
In order to go to bed she must have all her friends in a certain spot or else we have panic mode.
Below from left to right we have: "smelly lion"-it's a scentsy buddy that smells good, mermaid, baby belle, bunny, and Saige. To the right she has sea lion and puppy that she just informed me is named Katie. And don't forget dream lite at the foot of the bed. Now that there's not much room for her she can finally go to sleep.
Just got her 4th haircut, or maybe it was the 5th. Either way, not something we do often.
Sweet N Sassy is the best, especially when you get to walk the runway afterwards!
Emma is still our little bruiser and bounces off the walls, literally. She's one tough cookie! Whenever she falls down she jumps up and declares,
"I'm ok mama!"
She is 2 years of compact, squishy, squeezy cuteness. From her chubby little cheeks to
her chunky little feet, she keeps us laughing (or sometimes wanting
to scream.) =)
She is enrolled in ballet and we love story time at the library too
Still hasn't had a haircut and her hair is getting long. I'm in no hurry to cut it though.
wants to do most everything on her own which can make mornings very hectic when we don't have time for her to dress herself, climb in the car by herself, and buckle herself. Oh, the drama.
For the longest time we thought she was never going to speak and now she talks all.the.time. And she's loud! In a store it's embarrassing because she does not use her inside voice! I can hear people laughing at us from two aisles away. And heaven forbid she sit in a cart. ugh
When she sees something on tv or at the store that we have she yells, "I have that!"
wearing size 2T clothes
whenever we tell her not to do something or to be careful she says, "But I'm a big girl" or "I'm a baby big girl."
still has a paci but now it's limited to just night and nap and it stays in the crib. Yes, she's still in her crib and I'm going to leave her there as long as possible. She loves her bed and has never even thought about climbing out which really surprises me based on her fearless personality.
I tried to convince her that Trixie, our Elf, needed to take her pacis to the north pole for all the baby elves but that went over like a bag of coal
She pats her little hand back and forth on her knee when she's watching tv or on someone when she's talking to them and she really wants them to pay attention.
Her two favorite shows are Team Umizoomi and Scooby Doo.
Loves to play dress up and I constantly find her in outfits other than what I dressed her in for the day.
She idolizes Madison and wants whatever she has, or to do whatever she does. The way she says Madison's name is so sweet
Bribes well with food
to get her to smile for pictures we say, "don't laugh, you better not laugh."
who me?
Go in silly toes!
She always starts out sleeping sideways but at some point in her sleep will end up vertical in her crib so when she wakes up in the morning she says, "I sleep that way, that way, that way," all while waving her arm back and forth to show us she changed positions. And with a big smile on her face.
Mimi put some big girl panties in Emma's stocking and she looks pretty cute in them. But, we are not quite ready to potty train yet. I think she's going to be closer to 3.
watch out, crazy rider!
Both girls are super happy, most of the time, and love, love, love each other. I hope they always look out and care for each other the way they do now.
