5 Months Old

Madison is 5 months old today and doing fabulous. She is so much fun these days and I'm thrilled that I don't have to miss a second of it. Here are some of the things she is doing:
-I weighed her this morning and she is 15 lbs 3.5 oz
-still in 0-3 month clothes
-rolls from back to tummy but not tummy to back
-loves to squeal, especially at her daddy-we love her giggles
-big smiles all the time
-no teeth yet but I think the teething process has started because she chews on anything she can get in her mouth
-blows raspberries
-sleeps 12 hours at night and takes naps anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours, her napping schedule has been a little off lately
-eats 5 times a day, no cereal yet, probably next month after our 6 month check
-starting to lose her baby hair, has a bald spot on her left side, and there are a couple blonde hairs coming in! I don't think she will be blonde but she probably won't stay jet black either
-big time thumb sucker
-very aware of everything around her, sometimes gets upset if Chase or I are not in plain sight
-loves her swing, bouncy seat, and jumperoo
-can't sit up on her own but loves to sit and stand with our help, she is a strong little cookie!

Madison also made her first trip to the Arboretum with her cousins. They were having $1 days and now we know why, it is super hot in July! Here's some pics from the last couple weeks.

Pond

There is a pond close to our house where we like to go on walks in the evenings and Arnie loves it because he likes to jump in the water and swim after the ducks, don't worry he's never caught one. Ironically he's terrified of the swimming pool but show him a duck and he's fearless. We took some pictures of Madison sporting her Osh Kosh overalls, so cute!

I recently busted out the space saver high chair because it is something new we haven't tried. Even though Madison is not eating food the tray is a great place for toys and to occupy her if I'm in the kitchen doing something. She looks kind of funny because her head barely sticks out over the tray.

Madison and Arnie

Arnie has really been enjoying his baby sister and is constantly by her side. Here are a few pics I snapped of them "playing". Hopefully he will still like her when she starts chasing him and pulling his tail.

Stay at Home Mom

Well.....I am now officially a stay at home mom! I had a meeting with my boss today to let her know I will not be returning to work and she was really great about it. It was a hard decision and we will miss the second income but I know it will be fine. We are so fortunate to be in a position where I can stay home and there is no place I would rather be. Thanks SkinCeuticals for the last 5 years! Now miss Madison it's you and me babe. So glad I get to see this bright shiny face all day!

New Tricks

Madison is rolling over! She has been close for a while and now she has finally mastered it. On Sunday we were playing in her room and all of a sudden she just did it. I raced to get the camera thinking there was no way she would do it again but she did, and again, and again, and again. Now every time we lay her down she instinctively tries to roll over. This has made nap time very challenging because unless she is super tired or already asleep she tries to roll over in her crib and then gets mad because she gets stuck on her tummy, we will have to work on rolling back the other way.
Her other new trick is knocking down her blocks. We build them up in a tower and then she reaches for them and they go falling to the ground, she loves this game! Madison is very inquisitive about everything these days and reaches out to touch everything.
