22 Months

On the 23rd Emma hit 22 months.  It's hard to believe that in just a couple short months we will have a 2 year old, that just doesn't seem possible.  The terrible two's are definitely in place but they have been for a while.  =)  She is going through a super independent phase yet I can't leave her sight and she is still on me 24/7.  Emma loves, loves, loves her sissy and emulates everything she does.  Lately she's been picking up on Madison saying "thank you" and "your welcome," however Emma has it backwards and when she should say "thank you" she will say, "elcom," (your welcome).  It's pretty cute.  Food is still the apple of her eye and you can get her to do just about anything for a snack.
She is still as rambunctious (and cute) as ever so there is never a dull (or quiet) moment around here.  Even though she thinks Madison hung the moon, I've noticed Emma's been kind of a bully to Madison lately, I think that's a trait of the second child, survival of the fittest maybe, so she's taking things away and wants whatever Madison has.  Madison is too nice to take it back so she comes to tell me about it.  I tell her Emma wants to be exactly like her and she's just going to have to be a little tougher and not let her push her around, ha!  Emma's verbal skills are getting much better and she's trying to say more and more words.  Her "pa" (paci) and blankie are still much needed elements that we don't leave home without and I'm not looking forward to breaking that habit one day.  It's gonna be rough...

If you look closely you will see that Emma's clothes are inside out.  Did I mention she was independent?  We were at a friend's house last week and after playing dress up she wanted to put her clothes back on all by herself.  Impressed that she actually got them on, I decided it wasn't worth the fight to turn them right side in so we spent the rest of the day in backwards clothes.

At night Emma loves to snuggle up in our bed and watch Umizoomi.  She will point at the tv and shout, "Umi!" until we turn it on


After our Galveston trip the girls were super tired.  Here's Emma still snoozin away at 9 am the morning after we got home.  She prefers to sleep horizontal in her crib instead of vertical

Piggies!  One thing that's growing is Emma's hair.  We have a lot to work with these days

Emma, you may say my name 52,344 times a day and never give me a break but you sure are cute and that little smile gets me every time.  Life sure would be boring without you around!

Galveston Day 4-afternoon and evening

After lunch and a fresh suit we went back down to the beach for our last romp in the surf and sand.  I got a little picture happy this afternoon because the girls were having so much fun and I wanted to capture all their laughs and priceless expressions.  We love Galveston and love being on vacation with family!

**I know with our copious amounts of pictures it must seem like I spent my entire vacation behind the camera lens but I promise I snapped in spurts and our camera was passed around between all of us**





 The girls are at a great age where they play really well together and it was so much fun to sit at the waters edge and just watch them do their thing.  They really do love each other and Emma MUST do everything exactly the same as her big sister.
 


 

Here's where things got crazy.  You see that little nugget rolling in the background?  Her silly switch turned on and she was literally covered in mud from head to toe from barrel rolling through the sand and acting like a crazy baby!  All while laughing hysterically so, so were we...

 After lots of silliness we all got a little sleepy.  Don't let those sunglasses fool you, Madison is definitely asleep under those shades.  And Emma was back asleep shortly after this picture was taken.

 

 We can't go to Galveston without a trip to the Rainforest Cafe to ride the river ride.

We really lucked out with our overcast weather and had the perfect conditions with just enough sun.  The day we left was rainy and yucky which made it much easier to leave the beach and it rained most of the way home.  SO thankful the weather held out until we left. 
We made a quick pit stop in Houston to see my friend Katie, who I haven't seen since I was pregnant with Emma, and her beautiful new home.  Baby girl Miller is expected to arrive in a couple weeks!
