Today we went to see Dr. Hieber for Madison's 2 year check up. As usual she did not want to be there but only cried intermittently instead of screaming bloody murder the entire time so I guess you could say we're making progress. She received a great bill of health and the best part is we don't have to go back until she's 3, woo hoo, unless she's sick of course. Here are her stats from today:
Weight: 24lbs 6 oz, 25%
Length: 36 inches, 90%
Her stats crack me up every time because never in a million years did I think I would have a tall child. She is still our long and lean little string bean.
Since I never did an official 24 month post here's some other fun facts about Madison at age 2:
-wearing 2T outfits but we're trying to get every last wear out of our 18-24 month clothes
-wearing size 4 Baby Dry diapers
-has 7 teeth on top with another poking through and 6 teeth on bottom with another one poking through
-gets up in the morning between 8 and 8:30, normally closer to 8:30, naps from around 1-3 every day, and goes to bed between 8:45 and 9 at night
-we are still involved in gym dandies, story time at the library, and tiny tots music class
-she is quite the conversationalist these days and talks in sentences. We can understand what she's saying about 96% of the time and the other 4% we just smile and nod
-she has quite the imagination and has full conversations on her play telephone, talks to her dolls and other stuffed animals, and plays by herself
-loves to point out airplanes, big trucks, motorcycles, and bicycles and you better acknowledge her when she's telling you about them, or anything else for that matter, or she will keep repeating herself louder and louder until she's screaming at you for acknowledgment.
-favorite show is Scooby Doo and pretty much anything on Nick Jr. Thank goodness for video on demand so we can watch Scooby Doobie Doo whenever she wants
-loves to accessorize with bracelets, necklaces, head bands, purses, or anything girlie!
-she would play outside all day if we would let her
-Unfortunately she has figured out how to turn the lock on all our door knobs and loves to lock the door. She successfully locked me and herself in the backyard the other day for an hour until Jill and Gram came to our rescue. We were playing outside and I thought I heard the phone ring so thankfully I ran in to grab it, meanwhile she was playing with the door knob which successfully locked as soon as I shut the door to go back out, so at least I had a way to call for help.
-her memory is superb and you better not tell her something unless you mean it. If we tell her, "tomorrow we are going to do blank" or see someone in particular then she wakes up asking about it/them
-prefers to stab her food with a toothpick vs. a fork
-she tells us she loves us all the time and it's so sweet!
-ever since she's turned 2, which is less than a week, she's been starting to call us mom and dad more instead of mommy and daddy
-loves to sing and dance
-to say that she's a daddy's girl would be a big understatement. She's pretty attached to me too but when Chase is at home in the evenings and on the weekends he is the "chosen one" whom she wants to do everything for her including but not limited to: changing her diaper, dressing her, doing her hair, giving her a bath, getting her milk, drying her hair, etc, etc. I sure don't mind the break and secretly I don't think Chase minds it either.

Her friend Ava gave her this cute little activity desk and it's the perfect spot for coloring and snacks
Likes to go in our room and "hide" beside my night stand. I'll yell, "Madison where are you," and she replies, "I'm hiding."
We love lemon berry slushes at Sonic, especially when it's happy hour
The other day she saw her turtle float in the garage and said she wanted to go down the hill. She remembered sledding down the driveway when it iced. I told her that wouldn't work right now so she decided it would be a good spot to sit and draw with her side walk chalk

Loves to pile her babies, animals, and any toy laying around in her stroller and push them around the house
stickers are her newest obsession and she loves to adorn her feet with them along with the tables, floor, kitchen and bathroom cabinets, and anything at her eye level. We constantly find stickers all over the place!
We met some friends in the new Fairview area the other night and had a great time playing on the sand playground

I'll leave you with a picture from today just after leaving the dr.'s office. The red nose and puffy eyes are from the shot received minutes before and the bandaid is from the thumb prick, which surprisingly did not make her cry. But all is better with a Dora sticker and a dum dum. Until next year Dr. Hieber...
