Halloween Take Two

Today was a big costume day. This morning we had our Tiny Tots music class so all the kids got to dress up in their Halloween costumes and then tonight we went back up to The Heights for their Fall Festival. Let me just say that they go all out! It was so much fun and I'm really glad we went to check it out. There was sooo much stuff for kids of all ages to do, fun music, food, and an awesome petting zoo. Here's some pictures from our day.

Halloween Take One

This afternoon our neighborhood had their annual Fall Festival so we went down to check it out. Last year Madison was too little to do anything other than look cute in her costume so I think she had more fun this year. She rode the train twice, jumped a little bit in the bounce house-she wasn't a big fan of this, and we participated in the costume parade. There were some other things she was too small for but she liked all the music and watching the other kids.

Birthdays and Bubbles

On Saturday we celebrated our good buddy Parker's 3rd birthday at ASI gymnastics. This is the first time Madison has been to a gymnastics party where she could actually take part and do some of the activities. She wasn't too interested in jumping on the trampoline but she did walk down the trampoline runway into the foam pit and they got her to swing on the rope swing. I think she liked it so we may have to add gymnastics to our list of future activities. Happy Birthday Parker we had a great time!

We finished off the day with a big bubble bath. Madison hasn't had a bubble bath in quite a while because she used to eat the bubbles. Chase was in charge of bath time so he decided to give them a try and I'm pleased to report there was no bubble eating! There are definitely lots of bubbles in her future.

Girls Night

On Thursday mom and I went out with our good friends Cindy and Caroline. We try and get together once a month for some much needed girl time and lots of laughs. Mom and Cindy use to work together, Caroline and I ironically ended up living on the same street, and our girls are just two days apart so we always have lots to talk about. We met at our house for a glass of wine before dinner and had planned to go see a scary movie but opted for Gloria's all night happy hour instead. =)

19 Months

Today Madison is 19 months old! This is our last month in the teens (for a while anyway.) Before I know it we will have a sassy little two year old on our hands. We actually went to the doctor this afternoon because she's had a cough for a couple days and I wanted to be sure it wasn't anything more than a cold. Of course Madison burst into tears as soon as Dr. Hieber walked in the room but he was able to listen to her lungs, despite the screaming, and verify it wasn't anything to be too concerned with at this point. She then got a flu shot and we were on our NOT so merry way. Since this wasn't an official well visit they didn't take her measurements or give me any stats but I did ask to weigh her and she is 21 lbs. 13 oz.
Here's some of the stuff we've been up to this month:
-Madison is obsessed with being in the front yard and wakes up asking to go "ot" (out) so we spend a good portion of our days in the great outdoors, come on cooler weather! She likes to sit on the porch step and wave at cars, people and puppies. She also enjoys throwing acorns down the sidewalk, and of course looking and pointing at "amanes" airplanes
-Madison loves the two older girls next door and whenever they're outside she goes and grabs their hand and leads them around
-we still enjoy our Gym Dandies class, story time at the library, and Tiny Tots music class
-On Thursdays the garbage trucks come by so we have to go outside and wave at the them
-Madison likes to honk everyone's nose
-Chase has taught her to say "of you" love you, at bed time and it's really cute. He has also taught her how to put his socks in the dirty clothes hamper and his dress shoes in the closet after he comes home from work....apparently he doesn't know how to do this himself, ha ha =)
-Madison hasn't been the best eater lately and says "no" to just about everything
-her vocabulary grows by the day and she is quite the parrot. She repeated her first naughty word this month, thanks to daddy, but she hasn't said it again so hopefully it's not one she'll remember
-Golf is on TV a lot at our house when daddy is home and she now recognizes it and says "gof". Chase is so proud!
-when we show her the moon and ask who's moon it is she says, "Madison's moon"-also courtesy of daddy. Daddy has been quite the influence this month!
- she loves going to the park and we try and go almost every night so she can slide, although she never wants to get back in her push car on the way home and it's a long walk for a little girl
-bracelets and her most favorite thing. She puts anything she can get on that little wrist of hers and wears it around as a bracelet: actual bracelets, cookie cutters, rubber bands, links, round dog toys, etc....
-board books have been a big hit the last couple weeks and we read the same ones over and over
-some new animals she now recognizes and says are, "ebra" zebra, giraffe, "pingin" penguin, hippo, raccoon
-we've been spending a lot more time downstairs recently playing back and forth between her room and the living room whereas before we spent a good portion of our days upstairs to stay out of trouble. My parents bought her a cute fisher price spooky town complete with farm animals so this has stayed on our fireplace and keeps her occupied. She likes to put the animals back in the box and then take them out again.

We just bought these cute brown and pink sparkle shoes for the fall/winter. She's been wearing a size 5 but they are a little snug so we bumped up to a 6.






Our neighbor behind us recently got a puppy so Madison and Arnie like to look for him through the cut out in our fence

Madison and her new winter hat. If it ever drops below 80 maybe she'll get to wear it! She ran around The Children's Place the other day like a crazy person wearing this hat and Chase quickly learned why I typically don't go shopping alone with her.


Girl on a mission


All the homes in our neighborhood have side entry garages so we have a long driveway that runs the length of our house. This makes for a great runway to push Dora around. She also likes to push Dora down the driveway so you must be prepared at all times!


Lately after bath time Madison's been extremely clingy and wants to be in my lap, I can't say that I mind.
