Weekend Fun

We have a had a fun few days! On Friday we went to play at Tyler's house with all our music class friends and had a great time. We lined the babies up on the couch in hopes of a good picture, it's always questionable when there is more than one child involved! We were missing Ava but hopefully she will make the next one. From left to right we have: Tyler, Madison, Brinley, Jake, Carter

Madison's first date! Carter pushed Madison around the living room, so cute!

Here's a picture of the mommies trying to make the babies smile for the picture

On Saturday we celebrated Harper's 2nd birthday at The Little Gym. Madison is still a little small to fully participate in all the activities but she did have a great time crawling around. Here's a picture of her climbing up the rock wall with daddy's help. Such a face of determination...

Today we enjoyed the beautiful weather and when Chase got home from golf we headed straight to the park for a long walk with Arnie and Madison. It was a little windier than I had anticipated but it was still a beautiful day. On our way home we drove through Sonic for happy hour and Madison always reaches for my cup so I decided to let her "suck" on the straw. Normally she doesn't get anything but today she figured it out. I think it's safe to say that she is a fan of lemon berry slush. It was a struggle to get it back from her!

She tried some of Chase's drink as well and she is not a fan of cranberry limeade. A little too sour for her liking. What a face!

11 Months

Well I am a day late on this post but Madison's 11 month birthday was yesterday. I can't believe our baby, I wont' be able to call her a baby much longer, is going to be one next month! She is quite the busy little bee these days and is very interested in anything and everything. I feel like she is really starting to learn and remember things, for example, she knows that if she puts the ball in the elephant's ear it will roll down his trunk and come out the bottom, of course this is followed by clapping because she knows she did it and is very proud of herself! We also have a blender with shapes and she can put the circle in the proper place all by herself, again followed by excitement and clapping. We still love music class and story time at the library but I must admit this time around is a little different because the first time we attended these classes Madison wasn't crawling yet so she would sit sweetly in my lap or in front of me. Now she wants to explore and be on her own so she doesn't sit so sweetly anymore. I wouldn't say she's close to walking yet, she will stand a couple seconds here and there but only on accident. Once she realizes she's not holding on to anything she sits down. When she is standing or using her push walker she is always up on her tip toes so she will have to figure out how to stand flat footed before she can walk on her own.
Here's some of the other things Madison is up to:
-20 lbs 2.5 oz
-loves to dance and moves to any music she hears. Grandad got a musical card for his birthday and Madison loves it. It is Tim McGraw and who doesn't love him?
-has discovered zippers and loves to zip them up and down
-she is a big fan of pulling my hair, me not so much
-she has been all about her sippy cup this month and would drink water out of it all day if I would let her
-the push walker is her best friend, I can't tell you how many times a day she walks across the room and then I turn her around to walk the other way
-she wants whatever we are eating and reaches for it until we share or give her one of her own snacks. Doesn't like for us to feed snacks to her, she wants to pick them up and do it herself
-some days she takes one 2 hour nap, these days wear me out, some days she'll take two 1-1 1/2 hour naps
-has had a fascination with her diaper champ this month and constantly crawls up it
-has 2 bottom teeth
-very ticklish
-not uncommon for her to have only one shoe or sock on at any given time-she loves to pull what's ever on her feet off
-gets mad and fussy when I'm on the phone unless I put it on speaker so she can be a part of the conversation too
-kisses stuffed animals, books, toys, ect.
-gets super excited when Chase gets home and says dadadada, will say mama or nanana which I will also respond to when she is tired, hungry, or needs something
-will only keep bows in her hair if she doesn't realize they are there so we keep to the clippie bows, headbands are a no go because she can feel them on her head so she immediately pulls them down
-super fast crawler and loves to go exploring but does check behind her to make sure I am coming too
-has now found Arnie's water bowl and loves to splash her hands in it and of course then put them in her mouth
-still a huge fan of all Arnie's toys....is it bad that we throw a toy for him but she gets to it first?

Look at the cute headband

And Done....

Seriously mom, stop putting this on my head

I think she's been paying attention to Arnie lately because she puts things in her mouth and then pulls her hands away....mmmm a puzzle piece, delicious

Favorite sippy cup

Kissing the monkey on her cloth book

Putting the ball in the elephant's ear, what a look of determination!

Here I come!

I took this one just as her second tooth was popping through her gums so you can barely see it right next to the first one

Standing up next to her diaper champ. She looks so tall in this picture!

Super Cute-yes you are!

I may be bundled but I can still get my thumb!

Pretty sure she's gonna be a thumb sucker for life

And there goes the sock

Madison has discovered Kylie's pink 4 wheeler and she loves it! Doesn't every little girl need a pink 4 wheeler? With her attire it looks like she's ready to go mudding. Watch out boys, little country girl coming through.

Build A Bear

Today Gram took all her grandkids to Build A Bear and it was so fun. I had never been in one before and it is quite a process! We picked out a bunny, chose a heart for the bunny, chose a sound for the bunny, got her stuffed, picked out an outfit, and then picked a name to complete the birth certificate. I told you it is quite a process! Madison wasn't too sure what to think at first but she really likes her new furry friend. Ashley, Kylie and Madison all picked out bunnies and Brett of course got a longhorn. Haydon was great and slept almost the whole time so Jill picked out a small pre-stuffed dog for him.

Getting a heart and stuffed

Flopsie in her cute purple jumpsuit.

After we were done building our animals we went to Claire's so Ashley could get her ears pierced! She has been wanting to do this forever so it was fun that we got to go with her.
1....

She's looking a little nervous here but they did both ears at once so it was all over in a second

Showing off her newly pierced ears

Loving on our new build a bear bunny, we had to come home and put on our purple jump suit to match.

Playdate

We are so excited that we've made some new friends in music class! It's nice to meet other stay at home moms in the area with babies close in age to Madison that we can play with. Today we went to Carter's house and played all afternoon. Here's a couple pictures of Carter and Madison pushing the walker together. She hasn't quite mastered sharing yet so she wanted to be right up there with him. I didn't get any pics of the other babies but I'll do better next time.

It's Here!

I can't tell you how excited I was this afternoon to open the front door a find a box on the porch, my blog book! I spent about an hour looking through all the pages. I knew what all the posts said but it was really cool to re-read them and see it all laid out in a book. Have any of you done this? If not I definitely recommend it. It's an awesome memento from the year and a much better scrapbook than I could ever make. Is it sad that I'm blogging about blogging? Probably but I'm a mommy now and this has become one of my hobbies. What's more fun that sharing pictures and stories of your little one? Happy Blogging!

Happy President's Day

I don't think many people had President's Day off but Chase did so he was at home with us today. Actually, he's been at home since Thursday. Due to the weather he worked at home on Thursday and Friday so it's been great having him around. Madison is cutting another tooth and this one is bothering her, unlike the first one, so she was pretty fussy today. We passed her back and forth and tried to take her mind off it. Here she is with her daddy watching cartoons. She's been quite the snuggle bunny the last couple days which I have enjoyed but I think it's only because her mouth hurts.

Madison loves to gum on frozen fruit. I'm not sure what this thing is called but it's a little mesh bag that you put food in so babies can chew on it and get the flavor but the best part is that they won't choke, awesome invention!

Speaking of choking we had our first scare over the weekend. Madison was eating yogurt melts, which dissolve pretty fast but apparently not fast enough. Before she swallowed one she started chewing on a teether and I think part of it went down the wrong tube so she couldn't catch her breath. After about 10 seconds, felt like 10 minutes, of coughing and terrible gagging she projectile vomited and was fine. I was hitting her on the back and about to turn her upside down but she got it out before it came to that. Thank goodness Chase was here, I sent him racing upstairs to get her sippy cup. I guess I thought if she could drink some water then it would help dissolve it faster. She downed the water and went back to playing like nothing had happened. It scared the you know what out of me and she had a pretty terrified look on her face as it was happening. I guess I'll be breaking her yogurt melts in half from now on! Please Madison-no more choking, mommy can't handle it!

Happy Valentine's Day

Guess where Chase took me to dinner on Valentine's Day???? Our kitchen table! Who says you have to go to a 5 star restaurant to enjoy a delectable dinner of steak and lobster. It took us about 5 minutes to devour this delicious meal.

We sipped cocktails and munched on some tasty tomato parmesan focaccia bread while our meal was cooking. The best part about this delicious feast was that I got to dine in comfort wearing my zebra pajama pants. Can't do that at a nice establishment! Hope everyone had a great Valentine's weekend!

Here's Madison with her Valentine lion, it jiggles and purrs when we push his paw.

The Next Morning

Ok, I know I already posted some snow pictures but I had to post a few more. After 24 hours of snow fall we had a beautiful, pristine yard worth documenting. I heard on the news this was the first time there was snow in all 50 states at once, crazy!

Backyard

Here's a picture of Chase's truck. He backed it down the drive way in case it iced over and we needed to go somewhere.

Driveway, what driveway?
