Last Beach Day and Aquarium

Sunday we enjoyed our last day on the beach and soaked up every second.

Getting ready to fly a kite. Mimi actually bought a tropical fish kite but when we got to Galveston we couldn't find it anywhere so I think it might have blown away when we put it on the cart to check in to the condo. Since we've been talking about flying kites for a while we had to buy one at the gift shop.

Up, Up, and Away...It was actually super windy again today which would usually be great for a kite but this particular one had a long tail that kept getting wrapped up in the string so it was a little difficult to fly.

Building sandcastles with Pa

The finished product!

My little social butterfly wasted no time in making new friends. Madison loves older kids so when she saw all these cute little girls playing in the sand she quickly joined them.

Jump, Jump, Jump!

Snack time with the seagulls, pretty sure they got more goldfish than she did

Pa and Madison walked the beach picking up seashells

Clearly Madison picked up every tiny piece she could find

We decided to give the pool a try before heading up for nap time

Snug as a bug in a rug

After a good snooze we put on our Ariel swimsuit and headed back down to play

After a fun afternoon we went upstairs to get cleaned up for dinner

We had a delicious dinner at Fisherman's Wharf and sat outside right on the water so it was a great atmosphere.

Stickers were a life saver during dinner each night. Madison went through multiple sheets sticking them on her monkey pad and on our hands.

We went back to the Rainforest Cafe after dinner and rode the adventure ride one more time. There was a live band playing outside so she was dancing to the music and it was hilarious!

Build a Bear is located conveniently outside the exit of the river ride so of course we had to pick something out.

This super cute pink flamingo was the winner

We had to check out of our condo by 11 on Monday so rather than go to the beach and get all gross for an hour we loaded up and headed to Moody Gardens to tour the aquarium. It was amazing and we all enjoyed it.

This tunnel was awesome so we spent a lot of time in here

Hello Mr. Shark!

In the shark tank

At first we missed the penguins because Madison took off so we had to go back to the front to see them and I'm glad we did. This little guy stayed right up by the glass to talk to us and Madison thought it was pretty funny.

Petting a pretty purple starfish before loading up and heading home. Bye Bye Galveston, maybe we'll see you again next year!

Day 2 on the Beach

After a good nights sleep Madison joined Pa out on the balcony for a little breakfast before heading down to the beach.

March, March, March

Gazing out at sea, completely relaxed

Madison's bottoms are about to fall off in this picture. I bought her 3 different suits from Gymboree this summer and all the bottoms are too big. She can wear a 2T in the top but she's pretty skinny so the bottoms are too big in the waste. Pair that with a suit full of sand and seawater and they did not stay on very well while jumping the waves!

Checking out the big crab Pa found washed up on shore

Seagulls!

Taking a little juice break

Feeding the seagulls

Cheers!

Miller's Landing was one of our favorite spots for breakfast growing up. They completely remodeled after the hurricane and now it's a lot nicer than it used to be. We gave it a try for dinner and it was delicious!
