Halloween Round One

On Sunday our neighborhood had their annual Fall Festival so we decided to put Madison in her costume and walk down for a bit. The hat definitely makes the costume! There wasn't a whole lot she could do but I think she enjoyed looking at all the colorful costumes and we participated in the parade. The carnival was during the Cowboy game so thanks Chase for coming with us! We also had Shelly, Jason, and Kendall over for dinner so the girls could "play", it was fun to see them. Madison likes her thumb so much she decided to try Kendall's as well.
Today we got to dress up again for our Tiny Tots music class. Here's some ladybug pics, more soon to follow.

7 Months

Today is Madison's 7 month birthday! She has developed quite the personality and is changing daily. Here's some of the things we are up to lately
-eating rice cereal, oatmeal, green beans, peas, carrots, squash, and applesauce. The rest of the fruits are soon to follow. You know what this means, real food = real poop! Sorry, probably TMI but all you moms know what I'm talking about. =)
-sitting up like a big girl
-we like to have screaming contests-she will yell, then I will yell, she will yell, etc. It really is quite entertaining
-for Christmas my parents gave us a giant giraffe for the nursery and she has finally noticed he is there. Every time she wakes up in the morning or wakes up from a nap we have to walk over so she can pet him, she gets so excited-very cute
-no teeth yet but she is CONSTANTLY grabbing and chewing on anything and everything she can get in her mouth, including our kitchen table chairs. I was holding her tonight and looked back and she was gnawing on the top corner of the chair, really that can't taste good!
-still loves to gnaw on Sophie, we don't leave home without her
-still loves to chew on her toes
-reading books is very difficult because she grabs the book and puts it in her mouth. We are hard pressed to get past page 1.
-she loves Arnie and thinks it's hilarious when he gives her kisses
-we attend Tiny Tots music class once a week and go to the library for story time once a week as well.
-she loves to walk across the room in her walker but Arnie is not a fan, pretty sure she may walk before she crawls
-lately she has been having "Maddie Meltdowns" as we call them if she is not home by 6:30. I don't know what the deal is but it's not fun so hopefully this is just a phase
-I weighed her this morning and she is 17 lbs 5.5 oz
-she loves to be around other kids
-when she gets frustrated she scrunches her nose up and breathes in and out really fast
-can log roll across the room
-is super happy and excited in the morning whenever anyone comes to get her, love this!
-wants anything we have, like cups. Whenever I have a cup she grabs it and pulls it to her mouth. I guess she's been watching us do it long enough that she knows that's where it goes. She gums on the rim and I've tried to let her "drink" a little water but it usually just runs out of her mouth. She is a mess, literally!

Party Train

On Saturday we celebrated Parker's 2nd birthday! It was a train themed party so Megan and Andy had an actual train come and take the kids on a ride around the neighborhood. It was pretty cute and I think everyone enjoyed it, even the big kids!

Sitting Up!

Madison is now officially sitting up on her own! For the past couple weeks she has been able to balance for a few seconds here and there but now she can sit alone for minutes at a time. This morning I sat her in front of her light up stage and washed bottles and made myself breakfast all while she was sitting up and playing.
The last picture is her daddy's home smile. Look at me sitting up Dad! She get's so excited when Chase gets home from work, and so do I, now doesn't that make you feel good daddy?

State Fair

On Sunday we went to the fair with Chase's family and had lots of fun despite the chilly weather. Madison stayed behind with my parents because we didn't think she was ready for the fair yet, too many germs out there. No, Chase and I are not about to make out. I decided to share a bite of my Texas sized turkey leg with my hubby, now that's true love! We didn't get to try the fried butter, the line was at least an hour or more long and Chase decided he didn't need a heart attack that bad. Last year when we were at the fair I was pregnant and couldn't ride any rides so this year I made up for it! Oprah was there somewhere but we never crossed paths. The last picture is my favorite. Brett was very distraught on the way out after not winning any prizes this year at the fair. Somehow Kylie is the only one who walked away with not one but two prizes. Thank goodness Gram said there was a blue bear at home, with tags still attached, that she told him he "won" last year. That made everything better.

Snug as a Bug in a Rug

Ok-I know Madison looks a tad bit ridiculous but there was a definite chill in the air as we took our nightly stroll and I didn't want her little ears to be cold. We made good use out of cousin Kylie's winter hat and I bundled her up, mama's little eskimo. By the end of our walk I was wishing I had something on my ears too, that wind was cold!

Owens Farm

On Saturday we went to check out the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm at Owens Farm. They are open for a few weeks in the fall and have a pumpkin patch, hay ride, you can feed the goats, and there are other animals to look at as well. It's a pretty cute place and is good for pictures but we could not get Madison to smile for anything! I think there was just too much to look at for her to stop and smile for the camera. Chase went to Horseshoe Bay to play golf this weekend so my parents got a lot of Madison time. And Michael was in town from school so he got to play a bunch too. He was a little nervous she wouldn't remember him but I'd say she was just fine. Can you find Madison in the pumpkin patch?
