Splish Splash
We had a family get together to celebrate Kylie turning 8 and all the kids had a great time swimming and being crazy in the pool. Never a dull moment with this crew!
Butterflies, tarantulas, and sting rays...oh my!
Last week we took a trip to the Texas Discovery Gardens and the Children's Aquarium with some friends and had quite the adventure! The butterfly house is a like a giant greenhouse with thousands of butterflies. It's fun to walk through and see all the different kids flying around and hope that one might land on you.
They do a butterfly release at noon each day and this one landed on Emma and stayed there for a good 15 minutes.
Madison got a couple too
This year they added a snake house out in their gardens so we ventured through there as well.
And when butterflies and snakes weren't enough the volunteer brought out a tarantula for us to hold...eeek! I don't know if this is a normal occurrence or not but at the time we were the only people in the butterfly house and the guy asked if we wanted to see one. That was a little more than I had bargained for! No sissies here.
After all the tarantula holding we could handle it was off to the aquarium.
petting the sting rays is always our favorite part, they are sooo soft! My memory was full after a couple pictures so didn't get much in here. We also got to pet an alligator on the way out the door so it was definitely the day for exotic animals!

Last Beach Day
Today we were so excited to have our friends Jack Henry and Evan join us on the beach!!! Tanya is from Sugarland and they happened to be there visiting her parents so they came to play for the day. I think the kids had a great time together.
Here's our new dolphin friend Sparkle. Gaidos had a little more than just delicious food last night!
We pretty much had the beach to ourselves each day. It's not open to the public so the only people who have access to it are condo renters.
Mimi and Pa attempted to boogie board, lol
Look at that crazy beach hair...and the crab claw Madison found washed up on shore.
We couldn't leave the beach without going on our favorite river ride at the Rainforest Cafe.
For our last night of delicious, fresh seafood we went to The Spot. It's a super casual, order at the counter, and find your own table type place. We sat outside and it was great.
This girl is cray-cray!
Then it was off to our favorite souvenir shop, Murdochs before home to bed.
Bye Bye Beach!
On the way home through Houston we stopped at Katie's for a bit and it was so good to catch up with her and Jen and meet their newest additions!
