Happy Easter

I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend! We had a great few days and now I'm beginning to take down our Easter decor, much to Madison's dismay. Madison found an Easter egg yesterday and was quite distraught when she couldn't find her Easter basket to put it in. I tried to explain that Easter is over and now we get to look forward to summer so she told me 5 times yesterday she wanted to go to the beach! Here's some pictures of our Easter weekend.

On Good Friday my cousin Rebecca and I took the girls to the Children's Aquarium at Fair Park. It's pretty small so it doesn't take long to get through which was good. The best part was sting ray bay where we got to pet the sting rays. I've never touched one before and they are super soft! On the other side of where the girls are standing was a shallow area where it was easier to pet the sting rays so I lifted Madison up and over the side not realizing the front of her shirt was in the water. Oops! Of course she didn't want to wear a wet shirt so she went topless for about 20 minutes until we were done and I could run to the gift shop and buy her a new shirt.

On Saturday morning we headed over to my grandparents house for an Easter egg hunt in their garden. Here's Madison and Lula in their pretty Easter dresses.

Got one!

On Easter morning we woke up and found that the Easter bunny had left eggs on the stairs and in the living room for Madison to pick up.

He also left a pink bowling set

Sassy girl! I took this picture yesterday. One of Chase's friends works for ESPN so he gave us this outfit when Madison was born and it finally fits. She found her furry boots in the closet and had to wear them all day yesterday and I think they complete the outfit!

Arboretum

My cousin Rebecca and her daughter Lula came in town Monday evening to be here for Easter week so we wasted no time in seeing them and planned a trip to the arboretum yesterday. Madison and Lula are about 9 months apart so they play really well together and always have a great time.

Let's hold hands

Checking out the ducks

I took Madison's Easter dress in hopes of catching a few "secret garden" type pictures. And by a few I mean a bunch. =)

This is one of my favorites. She's not smiling or looking at the camera but sometimes these are just as cute.

It was quite windy and hot yesterday

Mom, how many layers are there on this dress?!

Madison, "show me your teeth."

Right after I snapped this picture she leaned over really far to splash in the stream and I thought we were going to be fishing her out of the water. Thankfully my mom was right there so crisis averted!

sweet cousins

twirl, twirl, twirl

Clearly the day was all about putting out toes in the water. It really was super hot so it was a good way to cool down.

Bluebonnets

It wouldn't be springtime in Texas without a photo session in the bluebonnets. Yesterday we found a patch and did our best to catch a few smiles. It was a little past 7 once we got there and the sun was starting to set so I was worried we missed our good lighting window but we managed to get some cute shots.
